Galdr & Seidr
Galdr
We view Galdr as a "Set of Principles" drawn from the understanding of the
Orlog which to our teachings is the "Law of the Universe".
When we refer to "Galdr" do not just mean, "What is Done"we mean.
"How and Why" something is done. The Hafskjold Lore contains an awful
lot of tradition associations, which link concepts together.
That is: The rune Yr = The Yew Tree, The god Ullr, The Bear and the Fox,
Archery and the mind sets of the classes.These are incantations/ chanting methods;
breathing techniques. They are used in conjunction with the runic stances, in Karl,Herse, Jarl & Konge
I that hung on the wind tossed tree all of nine nights,
Wounded by spear, bespoken to Hos, bespoken myself to myself,
Neither horn they upheld nor handed me bread;
I looked below me - aloud l cried -caught up the runes,
Caught them up wailing, thence to the ground fell again.
Do you know how to read? Do you know how to cut?
Do you know how to colour? Do you know how to prove?
Do you know how to offer? Do you know how to sacrifice?
Do you know how to project? Do you know how to destroy?

Seidr

Traditionally siedr is practiced as a feminine skill of visioning, fortelling future events and healing.
The actual visioning is practiced by reaching a heightened state of psychic awareness while chanting is done.
